Anyone have one of these PRO99 racing radios? I just picked one up Friday for the NASCAR race in Michigan this weekend. Pretty slick little radio. Really the only thing I dont like about it is that it does not resume scanning when you turn it off then back on. It has all the cup, bush, truck arca and indy drivers preprogrammed into it. One feature that I forgot to try while I was at the track was the over the air programming. I really wanted to see how well that feature worked but got into a ton more traffic then I ever had and ran out of time to play before the race. You can also enter in a drivers car number and the radio goes right to there freq. That makes it nice if you see something happening and you want to hear from that driver. This keeps you from having to search for it and miss all the action. Anyway, for only $169 it seems like a nice little radio to toy around with. I guess its time to retire my sportcat 200.

What is the "over the air programming"? I've been trying to figure that one out for a while. Is it where you can listen to one channel and program another at the same time?

Cool, I might be getting one in the next few weeks as soon as this timber sales goes through..... The Alpha Tagging is a good thing to have and seems to be the best scanner thus far for the area I live in, I might also be getting a new trunker soon, but that might be later on......anyway, thanks for the info,.. and any cool things that you find out about this new toy let us all hear.

WOW! As fast as that man comes up with the software, one wonders if he works for GRE LOL! Might have to ask him if he already has a version of Win96 formulated for the upcomming 2096???? LOL

I was at RS last wendsday and saw the Pro-99 and thought why not it would be a nice little radio for work with the pl. If they could make one like this that trunkes I would be in heaven. I have to agree with Dubbin it goes back to the Pro-92 ways with pressing scan when you turn it on, I have got too used to the 93, 95, and 96 where you do not have to do it. One thing that is different is that when you turn it on it is in the man mode but at whichever ch. you turned it off. So that is kind of weird. It is a nice little radio for regular scanning and thaks to Mr. Starr much easier to program. I just wounder what the Pro-97 will be like for the next gen of scanners. Also 3 AA batts. that last a long time too.
