I was having problems installing the copy of FreeSCAN (fssetup-211.exe) that I downloaded from the Sixspot Software website. I then had a friend send me (via email attachment) the copy of the same file that he had downloaded from that site. When I went to install that file, I got a warning message from Norton Security Suite that the file was suspect and that it had removed the threat (the fssetup-211.exe file)! I was able to install my friend's copy only after I temporarily disabled Norton's Antivirus Auto-Protect.
For kicks, I tried going back to Sixspot Software to download and install FreeSCAN from their website. Even with Norton Anitvirus Auto-Protect and Smart Firewall temporarily disabled, I was unable to install that file. Unknown if this issue was still being caused by Norton or not.
FWIW,
Kevin
