• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello.
I have a problem. I have a USB programming cable (TTL) and I made the modification for the 2210 ohm resistor. When uploading the key I get on the screen, Keyload Loading. And I receive an error message.
My programming cable is the one that works for an LPE-200 this cable is equipped with TX and RX it does not have CTS and RTS do these cause the problem?

Tanks

To which pins did you add the resistor? I have an older Price Industries LPE/Prism/Jaguar cable that I use to program P7100/P7200 radios and it will not keyload the P7100. It does keyload the P7200 radios just fine.

Worked great with 2220 Ohms. I just added a switch to mine with a label. Thank you very much for this info. Now I'm finally able to load this radio.

Nice work and nice finish. I redid my cable but I applied the resistance at all times. I can program and load keys. (the programming mode procedure is required) when the radio jump program the keyload mode is displayed later (can be avoided) by removing the cable when indicated (initializes the data)

Mine initially stayed on KEYLOAD IDLE, but after I started the load, it started cycling back and forth. I thought I may have shorted a pin, so I took it back apart. It's still flashing KEYLOAD IDLE and back to normal when I have it in keyload mode, but it works. I just added two resistors (2 - 4.42k in parallel) across pins E8 & E10. Then I added the switch to those same pins. When the switch is open, the 2.21k is felt across those pins; when the switch is closed, it shorts the pins together. I'm happy with the result and even happier that I finally got the P7100 to play nice. I thought it was firmware related and had given up, so thank you again.

Edit: Even though I calculated the two resistors in parallel and they should be 2.21k, they are actually reading a little high at 2.220k. It still works though, so I'm alright with that.
