Problem programming PRO-95 for EDACS Riverside, Calif.

I've just loaded the freq's into the scanner and...nothing.

I'm using the "WinSoft" WIN95 software.

Bank # 1 is programmed as follows:

Lake Elsinor @ Elsinor Peak:

#1- 866.2375 #5- 868.2375
#2- 866.7375 #6- 866.7875
#3- 867.2375 #7- 868.7375
#4- 867.7375 #8- 868.2875

Everything in my WIN95 program is set for "EDACS". If I go "MANUAL"
and use the UP/DOWN arrows, I can receive transmissions; the unit just
will not scan them. All other banks, conventional/Motorola scan fine. Someone told me to make sure that one of the channels should display: "CNTRL-0"., with the last character being a number".

When I manually scroll through the 8 channels, this display does not occur!

How do I get one of the channels [which one?] to display this??

The WIN 95 program is set so freq's start with the #1 channel.
They are in correct order; I have checked several sources.
"TYPE" is set for EDACS.
"Rx Mode" is set for EDACS.
No other freq's are in the bank.
None of the channels are "locked out".

What am I missing? What do I still need to do, check or recheck?


Channel #1 is the first channel in each bank.

Any help will be most gratefully received.

Place the scanner in manual mode and scroll through the frequencys. The control channel will have a loud buzzing sound. If you do not hear this you dont have the control channel programed. Also check to see if its EDACS Wide or Narrow? Anyway you should hear a loud buzzing sound on the control channel and that is the one that will display the CNTRL.

One other thing, if you do not have any ID tags programed into the scanner check and make sure the bank is in open mode and not closed.

Sorry about this third post but the RR database shows your last frequency number 08 as 867.2875.

The last frequency was in error as I had it! As I stated in my initial post, I had checked the list I was given with two other sites; each one confirmed the other. Sooo, I assumed that the freq's were correct...they were, just the last one was wrong. ;-]

I should have started with radioreference.com first!

In any event, I am very grateful to you for taking the time to respond to my call for assistance, when no one else could help me.

I am now receiving uninterrupted transmissions, talk id's and very good audio.

Riverside EDACS

Alain,

Thanks to you and Bandit, I now have my Pro95 working on the same Riverside system xmitting from Elsinore. I have spent all day trying to figure out what in the heck I was doing wrong. I must have visited the same sites you did with the incorrect #8 frequency. I too, will check RR first.
