Hello rrengineer. How are you programming the 106? I use Win500 for my GRE/RS scanners. If you are programming Gwinnett FD with Win500, there is a check box to keep the encrypted TGID's from being programmed. If you programmed a Wildcard TG into the scanner, you will need to lock it out, or delete it. Hall FD is not encrypted either. All PD and SO in Gwinnett and Hall are encrypted. There are four CC's for Gwinnett, and four for Hall. Let me know how you programmed the scanner and I'll try to help.

I tried Arc500 when I got my 106 over two years ago. It never programmed the scanner correct. The only other programming software I'll use is PSRedit. I got my 106 up and running by importing a Win96 file that I used in my Pro-96. There are only eleven TG's for Gwinnett FD, the main dispatch TG, nine Tac TG's, and one Admin TG. I don't even need an antenna where I live. There's a tower less than a mile as the crow flies from me. I can receive Hall almost as well. The three main systems I monitor is Gwinnett, Hall, and Forsyth. Then De Kalb and Cobb. Fulton just sounds terrible in analog compared to the digital. Just remember to lock out the Wildcard TG. You'll do fine.

Have you tried the free 30 day trial of Win500? www.starrsoft.com
I personally have used DonS's software for every GRE/RS radio since my Pro-95 to my 106/197's. Just like the way it works. When you programmed the CC's, the Wildcard TG was created by the software, or, you are just scanning the frequencies without them being in trunked mode. Don't know how that would happen though with usiing the software and an import from RR. I presume that you did an import from RR to the software then uploaded to the scanner?? Let me explain what the Wildcard TG is: It is a TG that like the older trunktracking scanners, in just search mode, allowed you to hear everything on the system. Even if you didn't want the dog catcher:)
Think of the encrypted TG's like the dog catcher you didn't want to hear. One of the reasons I got a 396XT was for the fact that I can search a system for new TG's without running it on the pc to a program. That is how I found Hall county was using some new TG's in the clear. Only the new PSR-800 in GRE's digital family of scanners does that. Try Win500 and download the scanner into the software. Save the file and attach it to a post here in this thread. I'll take a look at it and let you know what's what.

Larry
