You are saying it may be a connection? Odd that it would be both wired and wireless tho.
The posts all indicated it wouldn't be a connection because it happens on the wired and wireless, based on the info you provided.

This is an issue with the scanner. The protocol data is sending out garbage.
My suggestions are first, power cycle the scanner. If it happens again then try another SD card.

To answer a question, the test screen shows ASC on the characters not displaying. For instance, ASC(255) and ASC(239) for the lower case o in Columbus among others as below.

Just as I suspected. Did you power cycle the scanner? Even the GLG protocol command is not right.

I know this was for ThomasMcKean. But I had done Windows Update today. ProScan wouldn't work after the update. When I logged into RR, I noticed this instruction. Realizing I had taken a lightspeed trip into DUH!! Once I power-cycled my scanner, ProScan worked again!!!!:):):)

Not a peep from the OP for a few weeks, power cycling must have worked. This is usually the first thing I try any time anything strange goes on with any of my devices, scanner or not. As an IT pro I know firsthand the "miracles" just a simple reboot can achieve. Guess no news is good news

I had this ocure the other day with my 536 and ProScan. I haven't had to look into it, but he's not the only one experiencing this. I'll try some things tonight and report back.
