problem with psr 500!!! HELP!

no audio is coming out the speaker and when i can hear anything it comes in low its a on and off problem any help would be appreicated!!.thanks josh

Sounds like maybe a bad speaker. Return for service.

Not sure if you are still on here since GRE has changed hands. I am trouble shooting a friends GRE 500 that has same issue as posted above. Audio is fine on headphone jack but extremely low audio on speaker. I am looking to get my hands on a spare speaker. Can you point me in the right direction. Thanks

K1MIZ, that post from Gre Tech was from 2010, he probably not around or not associated with GRE, since they were bought out Whistler. You might try http://www.gcomradio.com/. I think they still repair GRE scanners. Maybe they can help out with a speaker.

Home Page recently repaired my GRE PSR 500. The parts were very reasonably priced. And the labor costs + shipping were where the real costs factored in the whole experience. I was VERY impressed with Mr. Oliver!

I would give him a call, or shoot him an e mail. Let us know what happens! I know how much it hurt to not have my 500 around for a few weeks!

More often than not the speaker wire(s) were wrapped around the top left screw causing the low audio.
