I was tuning around and using the list posted earlier in the thread and I noticed that the list is primarily of stations that can be heard from the US west coast. Is there a similar list somewhere for the eastern USA listener?

There is this list but it is geared towards weather and the oceans mainly plus it is updated maybe twice per year.

or
National Weather Service Marine Forecasts

That all I have but they do come in handy for testing your decoders.

Hey guys,

sorry for dragging up this old post, I hope you get notified of my addition. I have used fldigi in the past to decode WEFAX but recent versions (.76 and .77 for sure, maybe more) no longer work on Windows. Fldigi halts or crashes a few seconds in. Do you know of any alternate Windows software I can try? Here is a link to my dropbox wefax directory. I had fldigi dump its images there so I could see them come in at work while the radio was decoding:

You might try whatever mailing list fldigi uses for reporting issues or bugs - assuming no one answers here. Looks like it's called win-fldigi as found on the main page...

There are many Windows based packages that can receive FAX; however MultiPSK and SeaTTY are two that seem pretty popular. I think even MixW can do it. See the page link in my sig for the link to these and other digital decoding programs

I hate to get the thread off-topic, but I apparently don't have enough posts yet to send private messages.

I was looking at the images in your dropbox, and I see that you have some ice charts labeled in French and English, from May of this year. Where did those come from? I used to see them from Halifax, but it was my understanding that Halifax was shut down several years ago. I tried listening last night on the old Halifax frequencies and I heard nothing.

@W1SOP--

You could try using WXSAT. It's really old (written for Win3.1!) and fairly limited in what it can do, but if you don't mind editing INI files it's better than nothing. Stick it on that dedicated 486 in the corner.

It's been my "go-to" radiofax programme on my antique laptops for years.
