Hello I have a Motorola low band radio Maratrac 110watt trunk mount radio and i was wondering if there was someone who could program it for me if i mailed it to them. its the 42-50mhz i have the freq that i need put in it as well as the tx rx and pl tones. thanks in advance

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

You should have a radio shop that is local to you. Just be prepared to show that you have permission to use the frequencies that are to be set for transmit.

If he is in OK I doubt very much he could have an influence on CHP. Skip hasn't been that good. But spending the money to have the radio programmed means that thought should be given to the scan lists for each channel in advance so he wouldn't have to build a scan list everytime he changed channels. Or pay for more programming.
When listening to the CHP with my Maxtrac I programmed the scan lists so I would scan the channel ahead of me and behind me when set to a particular district so I had awareness of traffic conditions and resolutions as I traveled across the state. When I reversed direction I still had the next channel and the previous channel being scanned. I miss that with my Kenwood for it does not have individual scan lists per channel but at least it has an alphanumeric display so I know what I am tuned to without having to memorize so many numbers.

The man referred to OHP not CHP. The gent who wants his radio programmed is in Oklahoma, not California.
