programing cable help

hello does any one know if the radioshack programing cable 20-047 can be used with these scanners gre-500 &gre-600. thanks for any help, if can be done do you need to use the adaptor or not, thanks

Yes.

One note, do not use the short adapter (stereo to mono) cable. That cable is for older radio's like the Pro-97. The 20-047 is made by GRE, it's rebranded for Radio Shack.
