I purchased a Pro-2096. I have used Radio Reference to program it, and I have programed Tusc county and also Marcs channels and they are working properly. I imported the programing from Radio Reference for Canton Fire and it won't receive anything on that bank. I used the 4 Canton channels and the 14 IDs that are for Canton Fire and 13 IDs that are for County Fire. Any ideas why it is not working ?

There are two separate sites, one for the City and one for the County. Make sure you have the one for the County programmed, because it sounds like you are towards the South away from the City.

Plus, some TG's are encrypted, you'll just get noise.

Most of Canton fire is not encrypted, the last I knew.

I would set asside two different banks for Canton/Stark. Put one site in each. I have found that Canton traffic seems more common on the Canton site, and county traffic seems more common on the county site.

I will admit it has been a while since I've tried to monitor Canton fire. Kinda spotty reception up here in Akron on the Canton site.

I meant the system in general... will be passing through later this week, I can see what's up with the system.

The good thing with the Pro-96 is you can put all the control channels in one bank and it will check each one.

That's what I do. I have no problems at all listening to Canton FD this way. I have a few of the PD channels programmed, you might here stuff on PD 3 from time to time. Or some of the newer channels that are in another thread posted. I live in Louisville, so if you have any further questions on how you want to set up your radio feel free to ask.

I did not get chance to listen as I stayed one night.
I would try programming all the frequencies listed here on RR in the bank you are not receiving and see what happens.

They were attempting to merge this into one County-wide system instead of two separate systems. Since I didn't check I don't have an answer, but that is a possibility.
