I was recently given a radio-shack PRO-95. I have been trying to learn how to program it with the Win95 software .
So far I have learned that for edacs I do start at 01 , I have programed in all 20 System Frequencies. However I have been having trouble programming in talk-groups , I will enter in the dec id's for example for ets and I will still get ems and fire broadcasts.
I am new to all of this and I am sorry if I have made a blunder of the lingo.
I do have a serial programing cable for my pro-95 and in win-95 I have cloned back and forth to my PC just as practice.
I am pretty much looking for a edacs win95 file to look at ( so I can understand better what everything does ) . Also I heard the EPS is going to go encrypted ?

You are probably doing everything properly. As far as getting ETS along with EMS and EFR you are probably programming one of the "Patch" talkgroups which can really be used by several agencies. Lets just say that ETS in particular is a "real mess". It is hard to teach old dogs new tricks.

Otherwise I am not familiar with any talkgroups which have those 3 agencies. If you leave me the talkgroup info on this thread (the dec values) I can probably give you more information. I am not a fan of that radio and do not own one .. so I cannot supply you with the file you need.

As far as EPS going encryption ... they already have many talkgroups that the encrypted. But I think that you are probably referring to the "Dispatch" talkgroups in particular. All I can say at this time is "time will tell what we will see in the future".

If you only want to hear the talk groups that you have entered make sure you are scanning in the "Closed" mode, otherwise, (in "Open" mode) you will receive all talk groups.
