Trying to program my BCD396t using a custom frequency table on the ARC396pro software. The system I am trying to monitor is a montorla UHF system, and I have the base, setting and offset. I enter that into the "trunk system parameter" tab. After that, do I also then have to enter the specific trunk frequencies, and if so, all of them or just control? It seems that if I enter the parameters and no frequencies, it does not scan anything (which kind of at least answers the 1st part of my question). Does this also mean that if you only have the base and setting of a system but not specific frequencies you cannot scna the system?

You must enter at least the control channel frequencies (and set the scanner to C-Ch Only mode). Otherwise, the scanner will not know where to find the control channel.

Ok, so obviously I did not understand the purpose of putting in the base and setting. So, why would one enter the base and setting in a case where you either have the control channel or even all the frequencies?

Also as far as the last response, when entering the parameters, should one neter only the control channel or all of them (I understand the usual of that if a frequency is later added you might miss if you put in all the channels, but I am just wondering as far as in when you put in the base and setting).

UHF trunking is "non-standardized" so you have to "tell" the scanner how to handle the system (Base, Step, Offset) when it "Listens" to the Control Channel.

While you only need to put in the Control Channel in CC Only mode, if they rotate CC's as many systems do, then you won't hear anything. I tend to enter all listed frequencies to guard against this.
