I have the BuTel program on my computer for my 250 and 785. I have programed my radios with the frequencies and talk groups. When the down load is complete and I start scanning there are a lot of talk groups showing up that I did not load. Both radios are showing "ID Search" on the screen when it stops on these talk groups.
I have added talk groups and frequencies many times and have never run into this before. I have tried everything I can think of and cannot figure out what is happening. Of course I am not a computer or scanner expert either.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks
David

It appears that your radio is defaulting to id-search mode. Change it to id-scan mode. It appears to be radio related, as I do not see any settings in the ARC250 program that would cause this to happen.

I have noticed that the screen shows scan but when it stops on a frequency it shows ID Search. Can you give me a clue as to how to check to see if the radio is programed for ID Search or Scan.
Thanks for your help.

Very strange....I've used the same software and agree that it does not sounds software-related.....but it is odd that you are seeing "ID SCANNING" in the display while the radio is behaving as such........seeing that would suggest that you are appropriately in trunk mode with ID scan selected.....dunno.

Any update?

Doctordave,

I went and programed both radios again and still have the same issue. On both the 785 and 250 I am still picking up talk groups that I do not have programed. I am not picking up any of Ocean City, Sussex County, Worcester County that are programed in the radios. I know the radios have worked in the past. And I moved 5 miles further in land from my last home but I cant imagine that would make a difference. I can still receive the above locations on my other high/low band radios. So I am sitting here with two digital and one high band radio seeing what works and only the high band is receiving. (I consolidated two homes into one and I have a radio for every room including the garage and both trucks now.) I just have trouble figuring out these digital radios.

With these i.d.'s you have not programmed, are you getting audio with them? If not, it is a possibility that you have activity i.d. turned on; however I have never seen it say i.d. search with this activated. What part of Delaware are you located? I take it from your post that you are possibly in Sussex county.

I am in Selbyville about 2 miles east of 113 and 54. I do have audio.
I have not figured out the OC frequency yet but the DE frequency are the DE River and Bay Auth Lewes Fiery, Cape Henlopen State Park and Statewide Traffic Management.
