Hi,

I just recently got a Uniden scanner 996T and I love it. I’m having a problem programming digital trucked systems in the richmond/chesterfield/henrico area. I have followed the instruction manual and did everything that it said. Its scanning the frequencies and it showing that it has a signal (but some time it gets week and then strong again) but its not picking up anything (I also put in some talkgroups). Here are my questions:

I know that’s it’s a Motorola type II Smartzone

When I go to the site type should put P25, 800 MHz standard, or 800 MHz splinter?

Do I need a band plan and if I do where would I find it?

Anything else that I need (That you can think of) /all help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Andrew

You need to specify 800 MHz standard. You do not need a bandplan. If you want, you can just program the frequencies marked as control channels in the RR database, and the systems should track properly.
