Programing scanner

its hard to help people when they dont leave enough information for others to help them. Also it helps to read the users manual for the scanner which tells you step by step hoiw to program it.

Unfortunately the 651 will only partially work in your area. According to our database


Monroe county uses a trunked system that is partially type 2, which your scanner can't decode. Only those talkgroups marked 'D' in the Mode column would be receivable.

In addition, your town's DPW uses DMR, which is yet another mode that scanner can't handle.

There are quite a number of scanners that can now handle DMR and Motorola Phase II - the list can be found here under 'Scanner Support for TDMA'...


However if you still want to learn how to use this scanner, this article has numerous links to help you along, including user guides for ARC500 and Win500...

Thank you Mike. Do you have a recommendation for what type of scannerr I shound get for my area
