Not quite sure I understand the question.

Most (if not all) of the current trunk tracking scanners allow mixed trunk/conventional frequencies in one bank.

As far as the number of talkgroups I would hate to be restricted to one TG per bank!

My 796D can hold 10 TG's in each of 10 scanlists per bank = 100 TG's per bank.

Reading between the lines, I think you want to have one or more trunk
systems
per bank. No, just dedicate one system per bank.
Most newer scanners allow simultaneous scanning between trunk and conventional.
If bank space is a problem, then go ahead and mix trunk and non-trunk
in the same bank.

Yes, absolutely. Unless you only want to listen to one talkgroup.

Thanks for the replys, i was told more then 1 tg per bank will not work and will mess up the way fleetnet is recived>

I think you are confusing talkgroups with systems, or system sites in this case. With some care you can program multiple Fleetnet site frequency sets into a single bank. I haven't done it, so if you decide to, ask for advice based on the area you want to cover.

As far as talkgroups, program as many as you want/need per bank, up to the limit of the scanner. Lock out the ones you don't want to listen to.

No no, you can put in 100 talkgroups. What I think the person meant is, put in only 1 tower per bank. I'll explain.

Lets say u live in Toronto. You want to listen to Toronto's tower, Mississaugas tower and King Cities tower.
Make sure that you put each tower above listed in different banks.
If you travel you can put more than one tower in a bank but make sure that both towers in the same bank are far enough apart from each other:
I.E. I have one bank for Toronto and Dyers Bay (Bruce Pen) and another for KIng City and Welland.

Hope this helps.

Sorry guys i have confused talk groups with system sites.I think there is 32 sites listed for zone2,and iwas told i can only program 1 site per bank, for example Northumberland on bank1 fenelonfalls on bank2 on so on and so on. If that is true i can only have 10 sites that i can id search at a time.Like i said earlyer i was told trying to put more then 1 site per bank screws up your scanner and it will no recive fleetnet properly. Thanks everyone for trying to help, iam a pain sometimes!

Actually, there is a way around this as EJB has mentioned in his post:

Study an Ontario map and pair up tower locations from opposite areas of
the provincial zone.

That should save space. One thing , just how many control channels are
you picking up ? Where I live, I can usually get 8 /40 SW zone towers.
