Hopewell as I have been told is a very Local system ya have to be close, The butel software is the best if you have it I a have a 796 file for richmond area

Within about 10 miles. Ft Lee is also not real strong.

Russel, Mike_s104's last link in the Wiki is ok but I have a programming shortcut for the 785D (programs the same) in the 785D Wiki which may help.

However, in less then two minutes, I imported both Ft Lee and Hopewell into Banks 1 and 2 using mikes suggested ARC250D program.

Buy the Butel ARC250 software for the 796D. It will make file creations, editing and transfers a pleasure compared to manual entry frustrations. Also, you need to insure that the 796D has the latest firmware upgrade installed. One of the firmware fixes was to correctly process talkgroups 40,000 and above. Guess what Hopewell uses?....40,000 series. Without the fix the base and/or mobile comms may or may not stop for the full transmission period and suddenly begin scanning again. The audio quality settings adjustments may also be impacted. That is what I experienced when I first programed Hopewell in my 796D. After the firmware upgrade the 796D works fine. It is local compared to some other systems but I have no problems with it outside of the city either. I get good reception up to about 25 miles away.
