So I just got a 2096 and trying to set it up to scan alaska ALMR system in Fairbanks. Its a 9600mhz APCO25 motorola system.... I cant figure out how to put the "tables" in the scanner. Does it require the use of a PC link?

With the keyboard you can only set one table. You need all six and Win96 is the only software which will do this. Even Radio Shacks ScanCat software won't do it.

Yes unfortunately, unless you can find someone close to you who will program your scanner for you with the sytem.

Why not try asking in the Alaska forum to see if you can get some assistance there.

And just to add to what everybody else said, you can buy the computer cable you need, locally in either one of Fairbanks Radio Shacks.
