Is there any trick to setting up a trunking system with 700 Mhz freqs? I haven't done it yet, but I assume if you simply select the type of system it as (whether it's an 800 Type II MOT or full-blown APCO 25 type -- during "New System" selection), just input the control freqs as normal, even though they're 700 Mhz, and the scanner will accept them. Correct? Thankew!

700MHz trunked frequencies are (so far) P25. The P25 trunked system setting uses control channel only, so just the control channel is all you should need.

Colorado Springs 700Mhz freq's....

I noticed that in the RR database for Colorado Springs it lists several 700 Mhz frequencies there (conventional I think based upon what I see). When I attempted to program them into my 396T (with recent firmware) it did not take the frequency as inputed and rounded it up. Example: I tried to enter conventionaly 764.05312 and it rounds up to 764.0550Mhz. Any suggestions for this?

heres the RR link i am talking about: http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&action=fcc&cs=WQEV467

That is one thing I HATE about scanners.

It's less than 2 Khz difference, so it shouldn't matter as far as I know. And try adjusting the frequency step -- it may need to be different, like 6.25 Khz instead of 5 Khz.
