• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

It seems that when the radio tries to log on. A traffic analayzer shows it is denied on talkgroup 0. Although the talkgroup is valid.

If you are just listening, and not an authorized radio on the system you need to at a minimum:
1) Change unit registration to never (on the P25 System tab)
2) Uncheck the Transmit box on each talk group

Thunderknight is on point but I would like to stress the severity of what you just told us...

Any "logon" attempt or "traffic analyzer" hit from your radio means you just tried to access the system. I'm also going to assume you have no permission to use this system.

Mistakes such as the one you just made could land you in legal trouble and/or cause problems for system users, for starters. System admins also love threads like this.

Seriously, please check your settings as Thunderknight explained or just STOP what you're doing until you learn more about programming radios. No offense intended.

Like others have said I can't emphasize more, "IF YOU DON"T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING--- STOP". Besides the possibility of making your radio a doorstop the fact you can unknowingly interfere with a trunked radio system and can land you in jail for a long time.

Their are very few forums left that will hand hold you on this kind of programming, but try the G and read, read, read. Don't expect anymore help here or at other sites. Good luck.

These tests were being run into a Service Monitor/Analyzer. Not on a System.

Interesting. I can't make my trunking simulator on my Aeroflex 3920 give a TG reject.

What analyzer were you using? I might have to look into getting one that does that.

This whole thing gives me that little prickle on the back of the neck. "listen" followed by "denied", "denied" followed by "monitor/analyzer", and "monitor/analyzer" followed by "authorized talkgroups assigned to me", all summed up with "had to knock on the right door"... eek.

So...it's a secret?

I guess it will remain a secret of the universe.
