All of the major public safety radio communications in Louisville (police, fire and EMS) have migrated to the Louisville MetroSafe system. It is a Project 25 digital system and your model scanner ain't capable of receiving digital stuff.

You'd need a 396XT, 996XT or one of the comparable radio shack models, or perhaps the new Uniden Home Patrol scanner.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

You can still hear the suburban fire districts being dispatched, Louisville fire dispatching (for the time being until the new fire station alerting gets up and running), the sheriff's office and some of the small city police departments. But that's rather limited.

Also, you can hear the adjacent counties on the scanner you have.

My suggestion for that is to get the Freescan software, or invest in the Butel software and use the download features. That pretty much does all the programming for you.
