I want to program Fleetnet into this scanner.the instructions say I must use the Motorola E2-high mode.(which is Motorola vhf ).what im wondering before I start,is ,after reading the stickies provided in this forum pertaining to Fleetnet, they don't mention the 898t,only the digital models and the analogue 246.will these same instructions apply?ive used these stickies before for programming my GRE500 to great success,so if anyone can chime in,its appreciated.also,im wondering when entering freq's,do I enter all or just control channels.thanks again.

The WIKI does not say Control Channel Only trunking so you would need all the channels.

I think the programming should be pretty straightforward if you start at Page 41

The programming will be fairly different from the 246 and other DMA scanners. It will be more like a 796 or something (with banks).

Looks similar to the 396T/996T. Once you enter the base, offset, step and control channels, you should be set.

Since it's using base, offset and step to calculate frequencies, you can probably use Control Channel Only mode if it has it.

If you find your not hearing anything and the scanner is stopping on the control channel, than you can turn it off and enter in all the voice channels.

Uuuuuh, not a good comparison really, more like 796 with banks, not DMA, except no digital, analog only. (You will not get OPP or MTO Enforcement.)

No CC Only mode on the 898, so it needs all the channels.

It's a Big Brother to the 895 with more channels, TG ID's and trunk types (basically added EDACS and LTR).

I have the 898T, you can get away with just the CC and tyhe alternate. No need to put in all the freq's unless you really want too.

I was referring to the fact that programming a VHF trunking system was similar to the 396T/996T.

Keep in mind that on newer Uniden scanners, you can't select Control Channel Mode either. Uniden has decided that everybody should be using Control Channel Only mode and the option to turn it on or off is gone.
