Programming Consumers Energy into 796D

I was looking at the frequency lists for the Consumers Energy EDACS system and am having trouble programming it into my 796D scanner. I know from reading the manual that in order to program an EDACS system, you need to have the LCN (Logical Channel Number). In looking at the tower frequency list, specifically Grand Ledge, there are four frequencies, each with it's own number preceeding it (01 thru 04). I think the main problem is that I don't know whether this particular system is EDACS Wide, Narrow, or SCAT? Has anyone been successfull in programming their own scanners with this system?

Set your scanner to EDACS Wide and make sure to put the freqs. in LCN order starting with channel #1..

Ok, I have the scanner programmed as directed and it shows the "control" channel as it scans. However, there has been no activity for the last day or so. Do I need to program fleet codes or anything special into the scanner to hear anything?

Yes if in ID SCAN mode.
No if in ID SEARCH mode.

Toggle between the two modes by pressing and holding TRUNK for two seconds.

If you are hearing the CC, then just set the scanner to ID Search mode and you should start hearing and seeing the ID's..

Great! I was able to get the system programmed and I haven't heard traffic as of yet, but I was able to hear a couple different morse code ids on there. Looks like I need to just be patient and see what comes next.

Also make sure that you have the I-Call turned on, they use them alot..
