I was inputting cordless phone freqs into my scanner and all the vtech freqs plugged in just fine. The other ones didn't work so well. Every other one would change once i entered them into my scanner. I know its got something to do with the steps in Mhz. How do i go about making it program in without it changing the freq. How do i change the Mhz steps in the program. I've got a rs pro-95 and i'm using win95.

You don't live in the US, do you? Of course you don't. Anyway, just do a search from 900.000 MHz to 929.000 MHz when the phone is picked up, it is much eaiser that way.

There is no band plan for 900 analog phones. Each Mfg makes up their own freq list for Mfg. Search 902-928 in 6.25 or 10 or 12.5 steps.

totally wrong i do live in the U.S. missouri actually. My exact problem is is that when i plug in (for instance 906.13000 my scanner will change it to something like 906.13250 ) how do i keep it from doing this. some freqs have steps of 12.5, 30.0 etc. how do i tell it to change from something like 100.0 steps to steps of 12.5, 6.5 or the correct steps i need it to. Be aware i have a rs pro-95 and am using the win95 program. I can't find it on the program to change this. The only thing i find is to change the steps of motorola trunking or whatever. Do you have any answers to this. :?: Thanks!!!!!!!

What a waste of channel space !
Can't you just put your scanner in SEARCH mode and listen that way ?
I hope you aren't alpha-tagging who is on each freq. you hear

If the conversation is intended for you, your phone will ring.

First, since you had to state that you were in the USA  you should be aware that listening to the base frequencies of cordless phones is illegal per the ECPA. That should solve most of your frequency issues. You won't need (nor want) to enter them.

That said, .1325 is only 2.5 kHz away from .1300 and wouldn't make much difference - especially on a WFM signal.

It isn't illegal to listen to YOUR OWN cordless phone.

Actually it is illegal to listen to ANY cordless or Cell phone communications in the U.S. as scanner's can not tell the difference between your phone and someone else's.

Wow, that would be an interesting case.

Hmm, are multiple extension cordless phones illegal?

No, they are directly connected to YOUR phone. They are like having a wired extension on your phone line.

What is illegal in the US is to monitor Cellular or cordless phone conversations. Seems Congress (that organization Mark Twain referred to as "that grand old benevolent national asylum for the helpless") wanted to ensure the "privacy' of radio transmissions (at the request of the celluar companies).

Of course, with the newer high frequency cordless phones and their digital signals. the privacy is getting there without Congress.

It would be interesting to see how this is differentiated in the law.

I think that the enforcement of the law prohibiting listening to cordless phones is only going to happen if the PTBs already have you happy little can in jail on other, more serious related types of charges; and they're looking for another shovel-load of manure to throw on top of the pile. This is commonly referred to as piling on.

Like the one I saw in the paper the other day, a guy is arrested for possession of a half a kilo of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of illegal drugs in the presence of minors, and possesion of illegal drugs without tax stamps affixed.

But it still isn't real smart to admit in a public forum to violating the law.

lol. Here in Ohio you are required to pay taxes on all illegal items or substances you have. However paying taxes on them do not make them legal. Go figure.

Talk about a law to catch the dumb criminals. I can see it.

"Um excuse me occifer I need to pay the taxes om my illegal stash of weed. Where is it I should give the money to?"

Here in Oklahoma most (if not all) of the sales have been to stamp collectors. Yes, there are people who collect these type of stamps.

Other than that, it's another charge to throw on the pile. If they really want to be hardasses, they also file for failure to pay state taxes (sales and income) on the illicit income.

But we are wandering astray here. Back on topic.

K5mar I actually busted someone who had a tax stamp. What a shocker, a
tax paying drug dealer. There have actually been some arguments that
the tax stamps give a sanction or make the gov't part of the illegal act.
Of course using that theory how can they prosecute them as the govt is equally guilty??? I cant wait till that one gets to the supreme court.
