To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have programming software for both models. I copied all frequencies on RDU4100. I wrote the frequencies to CP200D and it transmits to RDU4100 on 464.50000 but does not received on 464.50000. What am I doing wrong or what setting do I need to consider on CP200D programming software. I can provide screen shots if that helps. Any thoughts from Motorola Gurus in this forum? Any guidance would be appreciated, thanks!

My RDU4100 is set to DPL, but lists a range of 1-67 Mhz. See screen shot.

Here are screen shots that show program settings for PC200D Channel 1 and RDU4100 Channel 1. My goal is to have them transmit and receive on frequency 464.50000. Both are UHF. I am able to transmit from CP200D to RDU4100 on 464.50000 but not receive on CP200D on same frequency, but I do not understand why.

Is the RDU4100 transmitting DPL Code 023 on 464.5000? The CP200D screenshot shows DPL is enabled for RX on that frequency.
I finally got Channel 1 to communicate on both radios. I changed from DPL to TPL, frequency set to 67.0 RX and TX and issue resolved. Now on to Channel 2. Your feedback gave me insight to test DPL and TPL, 023 for DPL and 67.0 for TPL. TPL worked. Channel 2 on RDU4100 uses 464.550000, TPL freq at 77.0 Mhz. I changed setting on CP200D but that channel is not communicating. LOL... I thought this was simple rocket science. ;) Thanks for the assist. I will keep working at it. I just need 5 channels to communicate across these radios.

Your RDU4100 is set to use PL tone #1, which is 67Hz.

Your CP200d is set to use DPL 023.

They are essentially blocking each other with the mismatch in PL/DPL settings. You need to make them match.

Set your CP200d to us PL tones and set that to 67hz on both TX and RX.

That resolved it, thanks so much!!! My radios are able to communicate. :) I have another question if you have time... My RDU4100 uses diff MHz for subsequent channels, i.e., Channel 1 - 67 Mhz, Channel 2 - 75 Mhz, Channel 3 - 89.9 Mhz, etc. All radios are set to 464.50000 only the Mhz varies on RDU4100. I set the CP200D to match RDU4100 settings. Now CP200D can transmit on 1-5 programmed channels. However, RDU4100 transmits regardless of channel set to (Ch 1-5) to CP220D Channel 1. It's as if CP200D scans all or monitors all channels, but I would prefer it only pickups on channel it is set to, for example Ch 1 on 4100 only transmit to 200D Ch 1. Ch 2 on 4100 only transmits to Ch 2 on 200D. Is there a way to control this on CP200D?

I have the programming software and can attach any detail window needed. Just advise what I should post to provide the information needed to determine correct settings. Thanks again for your help, it is greatly appreciated.

Without seeing the files, I can only suggest:
1. Make sure it's not scanning.
2. Make sure the receive tones are set correctly. Sounds like it might be in carrier squelch mode (CSQ)

I will post CP200D detail screens momentarily.

Here are 17 detail pages that I hope help determine what settings are causing

here are the last 7 pages. I hope this helps to identify the setting I need to adjust. Thanks for your help and expertise. I am truly a novice, but like to learn.

I will check Scan to ensure it is set to Off. I will review squelch settings. Thanks!

The way it's set up looks good, however your Channel 5 set to "CSQ" is going to hear everything on the frequency, PL, DPL, etc. If your scan function is off and you are not on channel 5, it looks to me like it should be working correctly.

You are 100% correct. Ch 1-4 work fine, Ch 5 on CP200D picks up all traffic. The settings on RDU4100 don't list DLP,TLP but have freq set to 67. The RDUs communicate well with eachother on CH5, but CP200D doesn't work with RDU settings. I have the option of setting CH6 on all radios for a 5th channel if needed. I think we will stick with 4 for now. I truly appreciate your guidance and feedback. I was really lost, but you direction helped me configure all 6 radios to useable state! Thank you!
