Programming East Orange Motorola system

I programmed in just the control channels: 476.92500* 477.20000* 478.72500* 478.92500*

I programmed the custom frequency table:
Base Spacing Offset
471.3000 25.0 380

Every freq is in MO mode. But hear nothing, not even the control channel noise in MAN. Did I program this wrong or am I just too far to receive anything, using a Pro-96 this time and live in Bergen County. Any help would be appreciated.

If your not hearing anything on the control channel in manual then you are too far.

My Pro-97 acts wierd like that too... I tried to program the Ocean County TRS into it with the same result. Nothing, nada, no soup for you. Sometimes I would get a tg or two, but no control channel. My 996T gets the system no problem. Wierd.
