Hi,

I'm trying to program Emerson College's trunk network (Boston, MA) on my Pro-96 (w/ the aid of Win96 software).

I searched the FCC database and found the following under one of their licenses:

939.1375 FB4
935.2500 FB4
900.1375 MO
896.2500 MO

I assumed this was a trunked network and was Motorola. I'm having difficulty just entering these freqs into a bank and putting it under Motorola. Do I need to enter table data and step freq, etc..? When I hit manual on the channel I don't hear anything or even a "trunking" noise.

agentdss,

This may sound sarcastic, but it is not .. :) How do you know that the system is trunked? Besides what the FCC is telling you?

If any of the frequencies have an active control channel, it should sound something like this (I know you may already know this, but .. ):

If you do not hear an active control channel, it might be because it is an LTR system. One flavor of LTR "key" up every 10 seconds or so.

Listen to the frequencies in conventional mode, make some notes and share them with the group here. Someone is bound to be able to provide some help with the extra clues. :)

In conventional mode I hear nothing except a general noise of nothing on the 935 channel. It very well could not be a trunked system, but I would think since the freqs were listed under one license and in the 800mhz range, it might be.

FCC lists the license as: Radio Service YU - Business, 896-901/935-940 MHz, Trunked

Very likely, Emerson College has a talkgroup on a 900 MHz business SMR system. I would check the resources at this site and try to match up the frequencies you've found (the 930's) with a system in the Boston area.

You may also want to make an inquiry at my site, http://www.scanmassachusetts.net , as there are numerous folks there that are intimately familiar with the trunked radio systems in the Boston area.

I also show 461.475 and 463.875 as frequencies for Emerson College, both conventional.
