I plan to travel to the New Orleans area in the next month and plan to bring my radios with me.

I have a few questions regarding what sites to add.

I am working on programming my radios and was wondering what sites I need to have to listen to New Orleans and Orleans Parish public safety? Also what sites is LSP on in the area?

Can St. Tammany Parish be heard from across Lake Pontchartrain, or is it out of range?

Also, what sites do I need to hear Jefferson, Plaquemines and Saint Bernard Parishes?

Also, what's the deal with the NOLA P25 system? Is it used? Patched to LWIN?

Thank you!

The only thing you'll be able to hear in Orleans is fire, everything else is encrypted. Same for Jefferson, Plaquemines, and St Bernard. The NOLA P25 Phase 2 system is used by public works and backup for other agencies in case of LWIN failure. It is patched at times during Mardi Gras and other large events and emergencies. Jefferson also has their own P25 Phase 2 system for public works and backup. All agencies use multiple sites, PanAm, Superdome, North Simulcast, Kenner, and Kenner MSY.
