• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

To buy everything you need to program one radio or a fleet new from Motorola (software, interface box, cables) is just short of $1000. You can save about half by buying no name brand interface and cables of questionable quality on ebay, at some risk. The software is only available (legally) from Motorola.

The encryption keyloader and cable will run you another $1k or so new.

Also, be aware that trying to buy any software from big M is VERY difficult. You have to prove that you are a quialifyed radio tech and that you service M radios, this process can take up to 6 months.

I should know as I when I set up my account, I had just left the employment of big M and even with my employee number and several shop techs vouching for me to include the shop manager, it still took 3 months.

But, the good news is, once you get setup you never have any other problems with support or up grading software

Our problem is that big M is not flexible to entertain us cause we are not service center we are end user we had about less than 1000 units XTS 3000 and 200 Astro Spectra in our company and the authorized dealer here in our country are not supporting this model. Hoping any dealer out there can sell to us this software and accessories we needed. We can provide our company license and permit if any dealer required us to prove the legitimate usage of this software.

Motorola sold to me as an end-user/ham radio operator. They could have cared less who I was. They were just glad to take my money. And they did this in less than 2 days from me signing the license agreement.

Can you help me how can to do it what procedure or process will i do?

Thank you

Go here: http://businessonline.motorola.com

You'll have to create an account. Once you get your log-on credentials, then you'll click on the tab that reads: Resource Center and select Software Support. Then you'll electronically sign a General Software License Agreement. Once that is signed, you should be able to order any available software. Back when I signed my first license agreement, I had to call them. I had to mail in a copy of the license agreement signed in red ink. Kind of strange, but that is the skinny of it. Very simple and quick and no "3 to 6 month waiting periods."

The first license agreement that I had was the old way. When they migrated to the new system, I had to sign an electronic version. That was the one that took about 2 days.

Are you for real???? Anybody with a clue knows that it doesn't take 3 months to get a /\/\ account setup and purchase software. Anyone willing sign the software license agreement and is ready to pay up can get the software directly from /\/\ pretty much no questions asked.

I agree. It only took me a day for the license agreement to show up. They next business day after I purchased the software, it was available for me to download via their website.

I am very happy that all of you had a faster time getting an account setup then I did. 'Back in the day',
(1989-90) months is what it took.

Best wishes to every one.
