Programming GRE 500/600 for STARS

You should have the programming cable and your a Premium Subscriber so, if you pick up this software:

Win500: PSR-500, PSR-600, PRO-106, PRO-197, PSR-310, PSR-410 Scanner Software for Data Management, Monitoring, and Control

And use this Guide, you'll be able to import from RR into the software and upload the info to your scanner.

Where are you located in Div 4? I can't determine a tower to use. Need Control Chanel info.

I'm in the lower portion. I listen to the Lee Co. S.O. and would be listening to Jonesville on the state police freqs. I still hear traffic on 159.165 but not as much as before.

If you download Steve's suggestion (Win500) use Web Import. Due to no controls listed uncheck the default box labeled CC only. Then select Sites 2-0042 and 2-0043 which should give you 15 channels on bottom of Win500 import dialog.. Then check at least the 6 talkgroups from Virginia State Police Div 4. You can also check other agencies if desired such as ABC. Games & Inland Fishing etc.

DON''T forget to select a Scanlist in dialog after clicking IMPORT THIS SYSTEM bar.

Suggest these two towers as checked and the several Talkgroups as checked. Then check a scanlist in Scanlist tab. Then click Green Import bar.

I've got the freqs. programmed in and the tower and talk groups I want. Will let you know how it goes.
