Are you using ID Search or ID scan? ID scan will only pickup Talk Groups you have entered and unlocked in your scanner. ID search will stop on any active talk group that is not locked out. On ID search you get a talk group you don’t want to monitor just lock it out. Press L/O button once temporary lock or or two quick presses on L/O is permanent lock out.

With temporary lock out when you turn scanner off then turn it back on all temporary locked out TH’s are unlocked.

I run my BCD996XT on ID search to pickup any new talk groups or any unit that happens to be in my area to affiliate with a site.

Is there much traffic on JC NXDN channels? Been considering upgrading my SDS100, but not worth it if traffic on Sheriff or Fireground is minimal.

I don't have the NXDN upgrade either so I never scan those channels.

Program those freqs into an analog scanner and see how much traffic you hear.

They are very very busy. If you live in Johnson County it's worth the $$ to listen to the tac channels
