I am trying to program Motorola Type II SmartZone Omnilink on a RadioShack Pro97. First of all, I am a "newbie", but I have programmed trunking freqs. before with no trouble. I tried to program Ohio Marcs, but I get nothing. Are these freq. digital, or is there something I'm missing? Are there "step by step" instructions anywhere just to double check myself?

???

Will a Pro97 accept the Ohio MARCS programming? I don't know for sure, but, I don't think it will hear MARCS. I have a Pro2096 & hear MARCS OK....

The PRO-97 will work on Analog systems, only. Ohio MARCS uses digital modulation. The PRO-97 will hear the MARCS, but, you won't hear anything except the digital modulation on an analog scanner.

Best bet is to purchase a Digital capable scanner and go from there.

When you read their ad, it IS a little misleading. "Tripple Trunking Scanner" is how they list it in their books/ads!!!!

Several people locally have been "hooked" by that ad and the "low" price of a trunking scanner!!!! And NOT actually being familiar with digital vs analog screwes you up!!!

The Triple Trunking portion means it will track Motorola, LTR, and EDACS.

Some people just don't read the entire ad.
