I just purchashed a Pro96 from Radio Shack and I am really enjoying learning to understand it. I dedicated a bank to MPDC. I only entered the "460" frequencies, as I am not interested in DC's fire/ems at this time. I have made sure that all of those "460" frequencies were programmed, in the correct order, and I do have it set for Motorola. When it scans through that particular bank, bank 5, the scanner stops on channel 500, showing a frequency that I never entered--something like "409.something"--when i manually go to channel 500, it shows what I entered, 460.025. Now while it stops on channel 500, my TG id's show, kinda change around at random, but no sound. Then it moves on with the rest of the banks. I went to the RRdatabase, of course, and at the top of the DC page something is mentioned about an offset frequency, spacing, etc. Could this be my problem? Do I need to enter that base frequency listed at the top? It's 458.775. If so, how do I enter it, where do I enter it, and what do I do about the spacing and offset?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I should note that I live in Waldorf. If I manually go to one of the channels in the bank, I can hear transmissions clearly, I just don't know which TG it is. So I don't think I am too far away. I dunno.

Thanks.

It sounds very much like you don't have the 460 mhz freqs programmed correctly. Normally I would point you to the PRO96 Programming Shortcut wiki but I also remember that you need to set up a custom table for this. Unfortunately I had that procedure stored on the LISR boards; when it died, the custom table procedure did too. Anyone? 73s Mike

Mike, The UHF programming setup procedure is in the PRO96 Programming Shortcut wiki link which you provided.

John can look under "For VHF and UHF 400/500 additional steps must be set as follows:"
