My county currently uses the North Carolina VIPER system which is an Apco P25 system. We have "Ops channels" which are for use on a scene and they do not go through the system only direct radio to radio (simplex). These channels only have about a mile or two range and are only about 1/2 watt of power. I have the frequencies of these channels and have verified them with SDR sharp and DSD plus. DSD plus correctly identifies them as being P25 signals and properly decodes them.

How do I need to program these frequencies into my PRO-668? I have tried to enter them as a seperate P25 system under the trunked tab and can not hear anything. I guess this is because there is no control channel to assign the frequencies. I then tried to enter them as conventional frequencies and I have selected them as analog then I tried digital then I tried auto and none work. I suspect because the 668 does not try to decode them as P25 because the are in the conventional tab. Any ideas?

You put them in the conventional tab and associate it with the playlist you have your trunking system on

Under the trunked tab I have multiple playlist for the different talk groups. I have them assigned to playlist 001 and I also have a wildcard programmed in to playlist 001. Which playlist should I select?

Ok. I got it. Had to get the band plan figured out. It helps to be on the correct frequency I thought I had the correct frequency turns out I needed an extra decimal place and only .00625 spacing. Thank you.
