Hi all;

Wondering if anyone has any experience with the 'ol Pro 94.

I just picked up one on EBay because I thought it would be able to pick up the analog portion of Fleetnet, but when I try to program in the offset - for Fleetnet Zone 2, that would be 380 - it says error.

Plus, I couldn't help but notice that it doesn't let you enter the spacing...or more than just one custom frequency table.

So, is there a way around this or does this mean this scanner won't do analog Fleetnet?

Thanks loads,

ES

I don't think the Pro 94 is capable of handling Type 2 VHF trunking whereas the Pro 92 is. Radioshack scanner experts, feel free to correct me.

It now appears to be working, I put the spacing (15) in when it asked for the offset?

Indeed, this is strange.

***Now I've just got to figure out how to monitor more than one tower at at time! argh!

There were some GRE made scanners that interchanged spacing and offset. Looks like you've got one of them.

Not to mention the good old BC245XLT....

Looks like the PRO-94, being a pretty old trunking scanner, can only
handle one base/offset/step. You should be OK except on the Toronto
Zone 1 site and Vankleek Hill Zone 2 site, which use one frequency in
the 2nd range (which you can't program).

RadioShack in the U.S. had (has?) some online info on the PRO-94. BTW
how's the audio on yours? No offense, I heard it was rather bad on
those radios.

Lucky me!

Yes, I see its only one base/offset...that will be fine for some time, I'm sure....I do wonder when some sites will start eeking upwards though.

The audio is indeed not the greatest...low and with a moderate hiss...I knew that was coming though, most online reviews reflect it.

Anyways, it was worth the minimal cost! I only wish it could track conventional and trunk at the same time....

Cheers,

ES
