Hi all, I just purchased a Uniden BCD996T. This is my first digital signal scanner. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong with setting-up the Richmond trunk.

I set the System for MOT Type 2/P25. I programmed-in all of the Richmond City frequencies listed in the Radio Reference datatbase. Including the control channels, of course. But when I do the trunk scan I receive nothing -- absolute zero.

Do I need to program-in a specified Band Plan also? The Radio Reference database gives no Band Plan for the Richmond City set.

Anyone advice anyone can give would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Have you programmed the talkgroups in addition to the control channels?

Thanks for your replies

Hi guys, Thanks for being kind enough to reply. Actually I figured out what I didn't do right:

At first I was programming Richmond's frequencies as P25 (I thought we were using APCO25 here), but, when I re-programmed the frequencies as "800 MHz Splinter" -- which also does digital apparently --then Boom! I got reception.

One thing's for sure, I'm tickled pink with the audio quality I'm getting from this Uniden. Its got that rich, full sound like a 50,000 W AM broadcast station.

Thank you again for replying.
