S0 means Systems. It will show S0 for systems 1-9 and S1 for 10-19. What program are you using to program the radio?

1. S0: Helps Identifies the system being scanned

S0:1234567 90
with the 8 blinking means that system 8 is being scanned. To access a system
press Hold > Press .No > Press keys 0-9 > Select then last number in the system.

To access System with quick key 24 press Hold > .No > 2 > 4

2. Go to the system and Press Func key then the menu button. Use the scroll knob to navigate the menu's. TIP You can navigate to a System by pressing Hold > Func & turn the Scroll knob to reach that system.

3. If you can put one outside a discone antenna is best. Scanner Antennas

4. Don't have any experince with Color settings, but they are set in the menu in the Group, TGID or CNV channel.

In kilowa22's answer #1, do not press Hold. The scanner must be scanning for SQK's to function.
