I have a recently acquired a pro 651 really cheap and have successfully programmed in a wildcard edacs talkgroup. I can not figure out how to program only a few of the talkgroup id's in a separate list to scan a small portion of the large talkgroup.
i can enter all the control frequencies and one talkgroup id but not multiple id's. Is there a way to enter multiple id's in one object without programming a new object (with all the control frequencies) for each id i want to monitor?

From my PRO-197 manual, the mobile version of the PRO-106, the older brother of your scanner:

Duplicate (DUPE) is useful when entering multiple TGRP objects that are hosted on the same trunked radio system, or multiple CONV objects that have similar parameters or tag names.
1. Press PROG.
2. Press the up or down arrow to scroll to the object that you wish to duplicate.
3. Press the EDIT softkey, then press the DUPE softkey.
An exact copy of the object you selected is created, and the scanner displays the newly created object menu so you can change the parameters that need to be changed. Be sure to change the tag name before saving your new object.
4. Press the SAVE softkey to save the new object.
Note: As soon as you press DUPE, a duplicate of the selected object is created and saved in memory. Be sure to delete any objects that you create accidentally.

Do you have the programming cable? It is far faster and easier to use software to program the scanner. I use Butel ARC500 Basic to program my PRO-197 and it also works with your scanner. What is your city, county, and state, and which agencies would you like to monitor? I'll check to see if your scanner is capable of receiving what you want.

No i don't have rhe programming cable yet. I did get the entire talkgroup of volusia county fl working as wildcard but can't seem to figure out how to do a subset using id's. Your instructions above apparently let me program the 4 id's i am trying to monitor as a subset. I can't seem to be able to see them to edit them but it looks like it programmed. Very little activity there so not sure if it is working yet.

The new Volusia County P25 system shows that it Phase 2 capable. The database currently shows all of the talkgroups as Phase 1 which your scanner can receive. If the talkgroups switch to Phase 2 (T in the Mode column), the PRO-651 will not be capable of decoding them.
