I seem to be having trouble programming text tags for talkgroups on my bc296d using scan-lite software or uniden bc296d/bc796d software. Any suggestions? I also tried doing it manually.

With the Uniden software on the left there are col's Number with list 1-1, 1-2 etc a col with ID's (this is the TG number) and a col Discription (This is the Alpha tag).

Originally I entered that information on the Uniden software. I ended up figuring out my problem. When writing the current bank to the scanner, do not click abort. Even if you only have 10 frequencies on that bank let it go through the entire writing phase because I think talkgroup Id's are entered at the end of the transfer phase.

You're right - it does all 100 channels first even if you only have one, then it does the trunking data and the talkgroups and tags
