Good morning everyone

I was just wondering if there’s any benefit in programming the receive frequency mode. I usually just use auto on conventional frequencies. Would there be any benefit in actually putting in the proper mode like AM FM and NFM. I’m wondering if it will be slightly faster in receiving the frequency. I’m assuming it would be such a slight difference it doesn’t really matter.

Thanks Roger

Yeah I don't think it would probably help in the scanning speed and that would probably just be something the filters / global filters might help with. Of course you have to manually program the mode in some situations like military aviation frequencies in the 138 - 149 MHz range and between the 380 and 400 MHz range using AM if you're monitoring aircraft. There are a few bands that will have some opposite modes users might use than the regular modes used in it. But I doubt it would speed up scanning any.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I wanted someone else’s input to see if I was correct.

Thank you Roger
