Programming the Radio Shack Pro 96

Tim,
I have a pro96, I use Win96 SW to program it. You can get that at starrsoft.com. You will also need a cable but make sure it's OK for this old scanner and Win96 SW. You can download files from RR with the correct membership.

If you don't have the cable you *might* get lucky and find one at some RS store if you ask them to do a search throughout their, and maybe another nearby, district and have them use the RS# 20-289. (I ran across one up in Greeley or Loveland, I don't really recall which as I was after something else at the time and was in a bit of a hurry, a month or so ago but, since I already had what I need I didn't pick it up. {WAN GRIN!})
As for software... You can not go wrong with WIN96!

If it is the same cable that I use for my old 2096 I can program this for you. I use the usb cable's not the serial cable. I live in Castle Rock. Founders Village, send me a PM with contact info.
04Z1V6, thanks! I'm new to this site and have no idea how to private message you. Can you email me at tglaser@1stctm.com with your number and I will call you? The scanner does not have a USB port just a small plug in on the side that shows PC/IF and the DC power on the other side.
