I am a total newbie to trunking and have a Uniden Bearcat BCD325P2 on order which I understand is a "Bear" to program.
It looks like FreeScan might be the way to go.
Is there an available database here that can be loaded via FreeScan for SVRCS?

Normally you could purchase a subscription and download it from our database, but I didn't see any Arizona trunk system with that abbreviation - I could have missed it, not knowing the state- but likely your next best bet is to go over to our Arizona forum and ask for a FreeScan file for it. Be specific; other software utilizes a different format.

Is that a system of conventional freqs? ... Anyhow...

In addition, here's an article from our wiki (links are always in blue) that will give you a starting point for understanding how to work with this DMA based scanner. Note that the Easier to Read manuals are all linked at the bottom of...

325P Programming with FreeScan

I downloaded FreeScan for the 325, and after some convoluted (creative?) work on my laptop I was able to install the Uniden driver...(not the usual way I have installed drivers before!).
Long story short I was able to load a trunked system and got it working.
The only issue I have is that some of the (digital) transmissions are a bit hard to understand as they are garbled (but not encrypted). I played with the Threshold (was on Auto) and it seems to help.
Comments?
Thanks,
Pete

If it's a simulcast system, then the garbled audio is par for the course. A true LSM capable radio/pager or scanner is what will alleviate that issue. Uniden is soon (relative term), about to release a scanner which can demodulate LSM. Huge thread about it, with links to videos of it decoding a number of simulcast systems.

Go over to the Arizona forum page, and post your questions, as there are a number of users in PHX...

I guess I'm just lucky. I have a 996XT, 996P2, and as if today a 325P2, all monitoring Macomb County, MI 9-site P25 simulcast system perfectly! It uses CQPSK aka LSM as some like to call it. I guess I'm just in a good location.
