I just received my new 996xt and all I can say is WOW! I had a 780xlt and loved it, but, the 996xt is amazing. Anyway, I am having difficulties programming Travis AFB into the 996xt. I have tried programming it as a P25 system and MOT. I am not getting anything. I am programming it via the scanner menu as I haven't received my USB to serial adapter yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. When programming in P25 mode, I input the bandplan as shown on RR. Nothing. Tried MOT, nothing. Looks like its scanning, just not receiving anything. It is in ID search mode. Again, appreciate any assistance.

Are you getting a signal from the control channel?

Programming Travis 996xt

When I entered system as P25, I entered the custom bandplan. No luck. When entered as MOT, I tried no change to plan. Didnt work. Under MOT, the scanner asks for a lower and upper frequency. The upper is not shown on the RR database so I didn't know how to enter it. Sorry, I am new programming this type of system. Thanks again for any help.

It's not a full p25 system.

Enter as UHF system with the correct bandplan per the DB

Base Spacing Offset
406.5000 12.5 380
409.2250 12.5 542
System ID List

System ID Connect Tone
5F32 97.3

Is 409.2250 the upper frequency? Do I enter only 1 bandplan or each seperate? Each has its own offset, I can only enter one if I use one bandplan. If I use 2 bandplans, what is the upper freq? Again, apologize for my confusion. And many thanks to the replies. This site is outstanding!

Cool, glad it's working. If I were you, I would use freescan when you get your cable. I can send you my 996xt files later if you want too. I have files for every city in california north of bakersfield

Thanks! That would be great! I received my cable last night and spent the evening programming some of my local area freqs. Wife calls the 996xt my mistress. I certainly would appreciate any files.

My best,

M
