When programming the control channel for the Wash DC Police which is 460mhz it programs channels at 408 mhz. What's going on here. I obtained info on this web page about the mpd but I can't seem to get it to work. I would appreciate help. I am using Pro-96 scanner.

It sounds as if you did not set the Base/Offset/Spacing to the values specified on the site here. Or if you did, you did not set the radio to use the custom table as opposed to the default table.

Lou I don't understand the difference between the the two tables and how to set them to the custom rather than the default. Can you help?

Mo Levin - who can be found on the Maryland and DC forums - posted this several months ago; I captured this and put it on the LISR boards to help newcomers out...
=========
Hit PGM+FUNC+TRUNK to access the the talkgroup ID list. Then hit FUNC+3 To access the custom table settings. Use the up and down arrows until the bottom of the display reads "Table". Then hit enter.

I'd strongly suggest jumping over to the DC forums on this board. I know we've got numerous PRO96 owners there. No doubt they can help you a lot more.
