I have followed the instructions to a T. Bought ARC500Pro. Registered with Radio Reference. Downloaded the frequencies. We get audio on some but not all.

The big problem is the Sheriff's office. Two days and no audio. We have plenty of bad guys - it should be pretty active.

Is there something else I need to do?

According to Radio Reference, frequencies should be 155.79, 453.4625 and 774.981250. None have any audio.

Clark County Sheriff is on MARCS-IP. You need to program the system and Talkgroups. Most of Sheriff except Dispatch is encrypted. The old 155.79 is now low power special ops so you probably wll not hear that unless you are close.

Did you try the dedicated public service search (Func+search)? I use that when I travel and it works great for finding frequencies in new areas or things that aren't in the RR database. Works better for me around here than the zip code search on the bcd-436hp. I hear more with the Whistler, it finds control channels and voice channels then I store them in default scan list, then make up a new system in the V folders for future trips back to that area so I never miss anything. I use it on the highway too, the WS-1040 is yakking away while the zip code scanner hears nothing.

After about an hour of searching, I found your Talkgroups.

I programmed in the Alpha Tag, assigned a Talkgroup ID and Scan list. We are still getting fire depts, but no Sheriff.

The Clark County Sheriff frequency is not encrypted. City of Springfield is, but not County Sheriff.

The fire departments are responding to the frequencies that I programmed, not any Talkgroup. (There is no central Fire dispatch for the county)

Really? You should sumbit a change to RadioReference if these Talkgroups for Clark County marked with an E are not encrypted.
