Anyone ever consider writing a program to get information from the FULL Database of say the HP 1 or 436/536 HP scanners to where you could import information into a 996 series scanner? Seems like it could work like pulling info from Radio Reference database. Just a thought!

don't think the 996 has the memory available. unless you actually drive over the entire US, you can import what you need from RR and that works fine, I think. The 400 and 500 series are neat, but you can get what you want from RR and the features they have , are not that important.

Not the entire DB just pull stuff from it like you do from RR...would save having to D/L it since you already have it.
