Just got a bcd325p2..scanner...not my first, but i,m having a ton of problems programming. i started with freescan which i used on other scanner...been 10 years and i,m just not getting it. switched to proscan...put everything on site one..not sure if thats right or not..inputted all that i wanted..it went thru, however..no noise unless i hit hold then resume providing something is on air..renewed my subscription..was reading..so much easier......ba haa...i know i,m doing something really dumb, so can someone call me out on it, so i might be able to start listening to it...thnxs

this is all based in new york and erie county and buffalo..i did notice that there was frequency and input numbers..only put in frequency and yes squelch is on 2-3..second number on some of these is input

You are going to need to read the wiki and learn some of these concepts. I will tell you in general, you want to ignore the input frequencies.

ok tried manually little tough bad eyes...tried freescan again...this is good

i have done this before on a trunktracker 4...was done almost in a hour...technology changed that much or has old age caught up to me...i tried the freescan again only because i have limited use of one arm...so much for easy with programming software, if this were a exam...boy did i fail...lol

first, how ya been todd.......you taught me all this back in 2014...some of it.....here are my observations....no port is recogonizing that this scanner exists...when going to up load it has the port right. Next. most of these usb cords are crap...gonna try serial cable to usb mini b....i have to cord for the trunk 4, and worked to perfection, just have to wait for it to arrive, i am truly at a loss that its that hard to do...back when you educated me on the trunk tracker 4, i was a newbie, caught on instantly, and was listening after an hour. Firmware and drivers were all done...just dont know what else to do...tho i still have a quarter stick of tnt left from the 4th... getting very tempting right now, tried three different programs, still nothing, now gonna try and find factory reset, and try again later, or may just walk away for a few hours....thnxs

yep, a fresh head can help.
i tried updating a 396T years ago and let the wife play with it.
well, she has been in IT for decades, she found the simple step i missed because she took it step by step.
and i was the one to tell her the steps...go freshen up.

ok...the cords worked.. i programed 3 systems with the third being p25, scanner wont scan the third...why is that? yet if i manually put each one in...it picks up the p25. so how do i do it, or do i have to do each system seperately. thnxs

P25 can be conventional (one frequency) or trunked (will show a couple of frequencies)
what system do you mean ?

Did you create a trunked system (the P25 reference?)?

Neither Buffalo nor the county (Erie) show to be using a trunked system/

Post your FreeSCAN file. (Save it to your PC first, & note where it is saved.)
You'll need to find the file with Windows Explorer, then <right><click> on it
You'll get a pop-up like this:

You need to compress it to a zip file in order to attach it to a post.

Do that, & we can take a peek & see what needs to be done.
