The other night, there was a colossal band opening in the Southern States, which yielded reception of trunking systems well over 325 miles away. It was reported that System 197 was heard in the Pascagoula, Mississippi area, but could have been from a few states away. With that said, System ID 197 is also used for the Rhode Island RISCON TRS, but has a completely different WACN. Therefore, it can be ruled out.

SYSID 197
WACN 9254A

If anyone could give a listen in your area, especially if you live in a state that borders the Gulf of Mexico, we would really appreciate it. Once identified, we will change the listing in our database accordingly.

Thank you!

I would suggest that the sites are 63-01 and 89-01, not 6-301 and 8-901, knowing how that data is displayed in those analysis programs' logs.

The P25 callsign translator says that 9254A-197 translates to WPTY4G, but I can find no licenses in the FCC ULS starting with WPTY (and this is not a guaranteed-true callsign anyway).

The only hit in the FCC ULS on 770.20625 is for Kootenai County, ID - but that's BEE00-18B (ICAWIN), and site 1-019. Obviously there must be more than that one hit (for that frequency) for all places in the USA.

For what it's worth, 770.20625 is not licensed in any place in Canada.

Do you have the full logs/dumps from PRO96COM (presuming that's what you or whoever else used to analyze the system)?

I was in Pascagoula today and there is nothing transmitting on either of those control channels. I even parked on top of a 90 foot high rise bridge above the water way leading from Krebs Lake into the Gulf of Mexico. I can usually hear stuff on top of that bridge 35-40 miles around. Who ever reported that should wait until there isn't such a large band opening. There was another one last night, and with a rubber duck I was hearing systems 70 miles away from me easy.

Wirelessly posted (Clacking rocks together: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.4; en-us; DROID X2 Build/4.5.1A-DTN-150-30) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

I had read somewhere that System owners may be able to assign their own SysIDs now, as opposed to the past, where one was assigned for them. Is that correct?
