If I monitor 461.225 for ProMedica units, will I hear the crackle in the radios from being far from the repeater? And also, 453.125 is listed as ProMedica, what's the diff?

I only see them listed as 453.12500 and 136.55000. I always here them on 453.1250.

edit: Sorry I was talking about the choppers not the ground units.

OK, I think 453.125 is North, I know 460.225 is Central, not sure what that means... different repeaters I guess...

Yes, If you are far from the repeater you will hear some static. The base station and the mobiles/portables will have the same amount of static. Just be thankful it's not a simplex system, because the mobiles are not repeated, so you won't hear them if you are far away. In a repeater system, the mobiles and walkie-talkies are repeated. :D
